The Shire of Moora sought to modernise their community sporting facilities with an upgraded LED scoreboard and scoring solution. Their existing screen had reached the end of its lifespan, and a replacement was needed to provide a more reliable and engaging experience for local sporting events.
The project required careful planning to decommission the old LED screen, adapt the existing supporting structure, and ensure seamless integration of new power and data connections. Working in a regional location also meant that travel, accommodation, and specialist equipment such as boom lifts needed to be factored into the delivery.
FocusAV supplied and installed a new Absen A0621 outdoor LED screen, measuring 4480mm x 2240mm with a 6.66mm pixel pitch for sharp, clear visuals. The existing structure was modified in partnership with a steel fabrication company, while local electrical contractors provided the required circuits and cabling. To enhance functionality, FocusAV delivered a complete scoring solution including a PC, iPad controller, and a 5G router with Wi-Fi, all linked to a dedicated head-end equipment rack housed nearby.
The new scoreboard has significantly improved the sporting experience for players and spectators alike. The upgraded system provides reliable performance, crisp visibility, and user-friendly scoring controls that make it simple for local staff and volunteers to manage events.
Working with the Shire of Moora was a fantastic experience for our team. We valued the opportunity to bring together our expertise in LED display technology with the passion of a community that truly cares about its sporting facilities. Collaborating with local contractors and ensuring the project ran seamlessly in a regional setting was both rewarding and enjoyable.
The Shire of Moora’s new LED scoreboard demonstrates how the right technology can uplift a community sporting hub. FocusAV is proud to have delivered a solution that combines durability, usability, and long-term value for the region.
