01
Background
The State Timber Museum sits within Manjimup Heritage Park. Creative Spaces and FocusAV were engaged to deliver two installations — an Interactive Wall and a Digital Signage Wall — that connect visitors with Western Australia's timber history while working with, not against, the museum's architecture.
02
The challenge
The cabinetry and timber finishes were built by other trades before we arrived. Our installation had to line up precisely with joinery that already existed, while still leaving easy service access behind it and a clean finish in front of it.
The result also had to be genuinely reliable and simple enough for museum staff to run day to day.
03
The solution
FocusAV supplied and installed Samsung commercial displays — an LH43QMB-T touchscreen for the Interactive Wall and three QM32C signage screens for the Digital Signage Wall.
Discreet Yamaha PoE column speakers were positioned inside the timber fins either side of the Interactive Wall, giving clear, even sound without intruding on the visual design.
A dedicated PC in the communications rack drives both walls, running Lightbox Software for interactive content and Fusion Signage for digital messaging. Our team handled the hardware installation and configuration, then offsite testing, onsite commissioning and user training.
04
The outcome
The technology sits inside the museum environment rather than on top of it. The Interactive Wall gives visitors a responsive touch interface with good audio; the Digital Signage Wall gives staff a flexible platform for storytelling and announcements they can update themselves.
Both systems were built to stay reliable, easy to manage and visually consistent with the building for years to come.
