Multi-Floor IPTV for Shared Spaces

Background

FocusAV was engaged to deliver an IPTV solution across a multi-level facility, covering lounges, a gym and outdoor communal areas. The goal was to provide consistent access to television and streaming content while keeping operation simple for everyday users. Each space needed to feel connected, while still allowing for local control and flexibility.

Challenges

The site included a mix of indoor and outdoor environments, each with different usage needs. Lounges required casual viewing and screen sharing options, the gym needed reliable visual content and independent audio, and the outdoor area demanded equipment suited to harsh conditions. The solution also had to work seamlessly across multiple floors without becoming complex to manage.

The Solution

FocusAV implemented an IPTV system using Ikusi Flow, delivering live TV and media content to Samsung displays throughout the building. Lounges and shared areas were configured with set-top boxes behind the screens, providing access to IPTV channels alongside common streaming services.


Audio was integrated using networked amplification, allowing content to be played locally through ceiling and outdoor speakers or independently streamed as background music. A central rack location was used for source equipment, with signal extended to displays where required, ensuring clean installation and reliable performance.

Results

The completed system provides a consistent viewing experience across all floors while allowing each space to be used differently throughout the day. Occupants can watch live TV, stream content or play music depending on the area, with simple control via familiar remotes and apps. The IPTV platform has created a scalable foundation that can grow with future needs, without requiring major changes to infrastructure.

Conclusion

This project demonstrates how IPTV can be used beyond traditional TV distribution, becoming a flexible content platform across shared spaces. By tailoring the system to suit lounges, fitness areas and outdoor environments, FocusAV delivered a practical solution that supports both entertainment and everyday use.
