Background

Hale School, a prestigious educational institution in Perth, continues to lead in innovation by empowering students through hands-on learning experiences. With the growing popularity of its Media Studies program, the school identified a need to enhance its facilities to align with industry standards, giving students exposure to professional-level broadcasting environments.

Challenges

The primary challenge was to design and install a fully functional broadcasting studio that balanced professional performance with educational usability. The system needed to be intuitive enough for students to operate independently while still incorporating sophisticated technology to replicate real-world workflows. Additionally, the space had to be future-proofed to allow for ongoing curriculum growth and content creation.

The Solution

FocusAV delivered a complete broadcasting upgrade tailored specifically for the Hale Media Studies department. The project featured the installation of the Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2, an array of professional-grade Blackmagic accessories, and the ATEM Camera Control Panel for seamless live production control. A Panasonic 4K camera was also integrated to elevate the visual output, and the entire system was brought together through customized programming to ensure an intuitive experience for students and staff alike.

Results

The completed broadcasting studio now offers Hale School students hands-on access to tools used by professionals in the television and media industry. The space allows them to produce high-quality content, build confidence behind and in front of the camera, and gain practical skills that will benefit their future careers in media. The smooth integration and robust programming provide educators with a reliable platform for teaching complex production workflows in a simplified, engaging format.
