Background
Multiplex’s new Perth office at Nine The Esplanade needed AV across the whole floor — a run of meeting rooms plus a large boardroom — all built around hybrid work on Microsoft Teams.
Focus AV was engaged alongside fit-out partner Everett-Smith & Co. to design, supply and install the lot. The brief was straightforward: systems staff could walk up to and use without being trained on them first.

The challenge
The AV design had to move in step with the wider fit-out. Mount positions, cable routes and wall finishes were committed early and coordinated with Everett-Smith & Co. so nothing had to be reopened once the floor was built.
The rooms pulled in two directions. The smaller meeting spaces needed to be identical to each other — book any room, find the same screen, the same controller, the same way in. The boardroom needed considerably more: real camera coverage, audio that holds up with a full table, and presentation capability for larger hybrid sessions.

The solution
Each room type got equipment matched to how it is actually used.
- Meeting rooms: Samsung Pro displays from 43" to 85", Logitech Rally systems with Tap controllers, and Logitech scheduling panels at the door. Same kit, same layout, same one-touch Teams join in every room.
- Boardroom and executive spaces: dual Samsung 85" Pro displays, Q-SYS cameras for video and Q-SYS ceiling speakers for even audio coverage across the table, running on Lenovo Microsoft Teams Room systems under Logitech Tap control.
- Mounting: slim pop-out wall mounts throughout, giving a flush finish that still swings out for service without pulling the display off the wall.
The hardware mix — Samsung, Logitech, Q-SYS, Lenovo — was chosen for long-term reliability and parts availability rather than for feature count.

The outcome
Every space on the floor now behaves the same way. Staff book from the panel at the door, walk in and join from the Tap — no hunting for cables, no room-specific quirks to remember.
The boardroom carries the larger and more complex hybrid meetings, with remote participants properly seen and heard and content sharing to either display. The AV went in on programme alongside the rest of the fit-out, with no rework.
